Q: Who are the Four Kings?

A: That’s our family! April, Earl, Skat, and Charm. We have always been health and nutrition oriented, but transitioning away from high-carb, high-sugar foods took our health goals to the next level. Even the cats experienced powerful changes in their health by eating a carb-free, low-sugar paleo diet -- Skat even reversed his diabetes!

Q: What qualifies us to serve you on your health and nutrition journey?

A: Earl has been a licensed Massage Therapist for over 10 years and has seen first-hand the way pain and inflammation can be exacerbated by what we eat. His own health and nutrition journey has been long and varied, giving him a great amount of personal experience measuring the effects of sugars and carbohydrates on the body.

April has been working in health and nutrition in various ways since for nearly two decades. As a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Health Coach, her knowledge of essential nutrients and how diet affects the body is extensive. Her own personal journey with staying healthy has created a passion for sharing how diet and lifestyle changes have the power to change our lives.

Combining our passion and knowledge, we’re committed to creating satisfying, delicious, nutrient-dense snacks that are sensitive to a diverse range of dietary practices so that everyone can experience a higher-quality of health and happiness.

Q: Why does your granola cost more than other granolas?

A: We are committed to only using the highest-quality ingredients. Not only are nuts expensive (and they make up a good portion of our granola), but we don’t use any filler ingredients that can pose a threat to blood sugar balance (like oats). Our ingredients are non-GMO and we source organic wherever possible.

Our goal is to provide you a high-quality product and to keep our prices as reasonable as possible. We’re always on the lookout for savings and better quality raw ingredients that do not compromise quality and our values.

Q: Will you be releasing other products and flavors?

A: Yes! Down the line we plan to release other products as well as seasonal flavors. To find out when we release our newest flavors and products, please sign up for updates at the bottom of this page!

Q: Are your products available in retail stores?

A: Currently we sell our products at the Food Conspiracy Co-Op in Tucson, online, and at our local Farmer’s Market. Please stay in touch by signing up for our updates. We will be sure to notify you when other opportunities becomes available!

Q: Where else can I find your product?

A: If you live in or are visiting Tucson, you can find us at the Heirloom Farmers Market, Rillito Park, on Sundays from 9 am - 1 pm.

Q: Is your product Keto-friendly?

A: Yes! All our products are developed to be mindful of carbohydrates and keep your blood glucose (sugar) in check.

Q: Is your product gluten-free?

A: Unofficially. We are not third-party certified "gluten-free" (yet), but our products are comprised only of ingredients that are intrinsically gluten-free. They are also produced in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, but they have not (yet) been lab-tested for their parts-per-million counts.

While our friends with Celiac disease haven’t had any issues consuming our products, if you are super sensitive, we recommend holding off for now. Please check back or stay in touch by signing up for our updates so we can let you know when we expand our offerings!

Q: I am diabetic. Can I eat your granola?

A: Yes, absolutely! Specializing in blood glucose and diabetes April specifically designed this product to be diabetic friendly. The healthy fats will slow the digestion of carbs providing a steady release of glucose and there is zero added sugar!

Q: How are your almonds pasteurized?

A: Steam pasteurization. In September 2007, the USDA began requiring that all almonds grown in California and sold as raw in the United States be sanitized via pasteurization. Currently there are two main methods being used to pasteurize the almonds. One uses steam to sanitize the nuts, while the other uses the chemical, propylene oxide, aka PPO, which is considered a possible carcinogen. Most conventional almond growers pasteurize their almonds using PPO. We choose to take extra care and source almond that are pasteurized using steam, which is a much safer alternative to the PPO both protecting you and the nutrients of the almonds themselves.

Q: What is Monk Fruit?

A: Monk fruit (luo han guo) is a small melon that has been cultivated in Southeast Asia for over 800 years and is named after the Buddhist monks who first discovered it. It has been used as a health supportive tonic in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. The fruit contains antioxidant compounds, called mogrosides, giving it a natural sweetness. We’ve chosen to include monk fruit as a sweetener to give you a natural tasting sweetness without sugar.

Q: What is Erythritol?

A: When sugar is fermented a byproduct of that is alcohol. When the alcohol is captured it crystalizes. The sugar alcohol crystals have a sweet flavor about 60-80% as sweet as sugar.


Q: Why do you use Erythritol instead of sugar, honey, or other traditional sweeteners?

A: It allows us to create a granola with mild sweetness that doesn’t spike your blood-sugar.  


Q: Is Erythritol like artificial sweeteners?

A: Unlike its questionable cousins, maltitol, sorbitol, mannitol, and xylitol, erythritol doesn't elicit an insulin response. It’s non-glycemic, meaning your blood sugar will not increase after eating our foods.


Q: Are there other reasons you use Erythritol as opposed to other sweeteners?

A: Erythritol does not contribute to dental plaque (in fact, it actually can help combat oral bacteria). It is also not absorbed by the large intestine - meaning that it will not cause digestive distress.


Q: Isn’t erythritol made from corn? How is your product grain-free?

A: We use only non-GMO erythritol sourced from sugar cane (most others are derived from corn) which makes our product truly 100% grain free.

Q: When can I expect my products to ship?

A: Within two business days of your order being received, excluding holidays.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Not at this time, but we hope to in the future. Please stay in touch by signing up for our updates. We will be sure to notify you when this option becomes available!

Q: What is your return/refund policy?

A: We offer a 30-day full satisfaction guarantee. If you purchase and are not 100% satisfied, simply return the remaining contents and packaging within 30 days for a full product refund.

Refunds will be issued to the same credit card that was charged. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. We recommend that all returned items be sent using a delivery confirmation to ensure proper delivery.

Once we receive your properly returned package, we will process your refund request within 3-7 business days. Please allow additional time for your financial institution to post the refund to your account.

Contact our billing department at billing@fourkingskitchen.com if you do not see the credit on your account within 1-2 weeks after we processed your request.

Please note that shipping and handling will NOT be refunded.
